Rental Terms and Conditions
What are the Terms and Conditions of my rental agreement?
Terms and Conditions typically vary between countries, agencies and vehicles. During your reservation process you will be provided with a quotation page which will contain the specific terms and conditions for your specific rental quote. Click on the “Rate Details” link which is located to the right of your car type choice. The Terms and Conditions are also found on the third and final step of your reservations process, at the bottom of the Confirmation page,click on the Rental Conditions link. Additionally, your Terms and Conditions will be on the Confirmation Voucher which you will need to bring to the car rental agency when you pick up your car.
Payment Options
What payment methods are accepted for my car rental reservation?
Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Maestro/Laser are accepted for online payments. When you arrive at the rental car agency they will require a security deposit at the time of car pick-up. Typically this deposit amount will be blocked off of the primary drivers credit card and will be released upon return of the car and payment. Cash deposits and debit cards are not accepted so you must have a credit card for this purpose. Please check your rental conditions in “Rate Details” to confirm the types of credit cards accepted by the local car rental agency.
Making Changes To Your Reservation
Can I amend, make changes, to my reservation after it has been confirmed?
Yes. You will need your booking ID number. Simply select the Amend Booking link at the top of this page and be prepared to provide details of the changes you wish to make. Rates change frequently and we cannot guarantee the same rate provided with your original reservation.
Is it possible to add additional drivers to my reservation?
Yes. You may add additional drivers at the time you pick-up your rental car. The additional drivers must be present at the rental car agency, provide a valid driver’s license and sign the rental agreement.
Canceling Your Reservation
What is CarTrawler’s Cancellation Policy?
Reservations With Only Deposit Paid: We realize that circumstances sometimes change and bring the need to cancel a reservation. If you cancel your reservation within 7 days of the car rental booking date and at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled car pickup time, all funds will be refunded in full. However, if your reservation is canceled outside of the 7 days after the car rental booking date but still at least 48 hours prior to your rental car pickup time a cancellation fee of Eur 25.00 and the credit card processing fee will be deducted from your reimbursement. If you cancel your booking less than 48 hours before you scheduled rental car pickup time there is no refund.
Reservations Paid In Full:If you cancel your paid in full reservation/booking within 7 days of the car rental booking date and at least 48 hours before your scheduled rental car pick up time, all funds will be reimbursed. However, if you cancel outside 7 days of the car rental reservation date but still at least 48 hours before your scheduled rental car pickup date, a cancellation fee of Eur 25.00 and the card processing fee will be deducted from your refund. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your scheduled rental car pickup time, the amount of 3 days rental and the card processing fee will be deducted from your refund.
Reservations Post-Paid (entire rental fee is due and payable at the car rental agency): No cancellation fee.
Please note: CarTrawler is not liable for any monetary losses suffered by you as a result of a change in monetary exchange rates between the time of your original booking and your cancellation or alteration.
What is the procedure to cancel my reservation? Please use the link in your confirmation email to cancel. If you do not have access to that email please go to this page and click on “Cancel Your Reservation” button.
Your CarTrawler Voucher
What is a CarTrawler Voucher? Your car rental voucher confirms the details of your car rental reservation and must be presented to the car rental agency at pickup time. If you do not have your voucher present when you pickup your car, the rental car agency may charge you a different rental rate than what was quoted to you originally, or they may refuse to rent you the car. No appeal for a refund will be entertained if you did not produce your voucher at the time of rental car pickup.
What Can I Do If I Lose My Voucher? If you misplace your voucher and do not have access to the confirmation email that was sent to you, please go here, and click on the ‘Voucher Lookup/Print Button.
